MIRACLE TEMPLE CHURCH OF DELIVERANCE
OUR FOUNDER
Bishop Thompson founded Miracle Temple Church of Deliverance, Inc. of Dallas, Texas. in January 1996. Bishop Thompson was a devoted husband and father; married to Co-Pastor Cheryl Lewis Thompson with four children, James, Jameshia, Dwain Jr., and Precious. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri and was raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he chose to follow the call of God upon his life in the mid 70's, with the guidance of his leader(s), the late Rev. R.L. Lathan and the late Bishop P. Henderson. He attended Bishop College of Dallas, TX. He held a Certificate of Ministry from the D. Edward Johnson School of Ministry and was a graduate of Vision International University with a Doctorate Degree in Theology.
Dr. Sherman C. Gee Allen was Bishop Thompson's “Spiritual Father in the ministry” . Dr. Allen was very inspiring and dedicated to Bishop Thompson and the Miracle Temple Church of Deliverance Family.
Bishop Thompson was a faithful member of Jonathan’s Seed where he was a covenant partner. Bishop Thompson was also a part of P.M.C.A. and supports Dr. Allen’s Prophetic Conference.
He was actively involved in progressive ministries throughout the country espousing the belief that ministry cannot be limited to the church, nor preaching relegated to the pulpit. He served as National General Secretary to the Apostolic College of Bishops of the United Council of Christian Churches International under the leadership of Bishop John E. Sheriff. He also served as Regional Coordinator of the Ministerial Alliance of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship Churches of Texas under the leadership of Bishop Larry D. Leonard, Sr. Regional Bishop and Bishop Paul S. Morton, Sr. Presiding Bishop. He was on the Board of Bishops for the Louisiana State Council Fellowship. Bishop Thompson has matriculated numerous social honors and awards to include: Young Men Christian Association, Who’s Who In America. In 1994, Bishop Thompson was honored by the mayor of Dallas, Mayor Steve Bartlett, for his persistent help with the homeless of Dallas, as well as, his continued help with the HIV-infected patients of Parkland County Hospital.
In January 1998, he started another church in Rockford, Illinois as well as returning to Milwaukee to begin work there. With the five-fold ministry at work in his life, Bishop Thompson founded a contemporary ministry on the “cutting edge” of the 21st century. His visionary mandate continues to stir up ministry gifts in the Body of Christ, equipping men and women for Kingdom service and spiritual warfare, thus, bringing them to a depth of knowledge, revelation, and maturity in the things of God so as to effectuate the culmination of the unfinished task of preparing a bride adorned for her groom.

Miracle Temple Church of Deliverance was incorporated in May of 1996. We have since worshiped in many places. We have found our home at 1301 W. Parkerville Road, Ste. C Desoto, TX 75115. We have truly been blessed to have found this place. We are currently in negotiations with the owners of a section of land in hopes that we will be able to build a new church home there.
We have endeavored to promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to bring ministry into the community. It is our desire to spread the word of God through the community and thereby create an environment of hope and peace.
